Turkish Cypriot Member
Gülden Plümer Küçük was educated in Turkey, Cyprus and the United Kingdom. She majored in Business Administration at the Bosphorus University in Turkey. Later she was rewarded a M.B.A. in Business Administration by the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus. She completed her post-graduate certification at Birmingham University in the United Kingdom.
Mrs. Küçük began her career in 1979 at the Cooperative Central Bank in which she worked for various departments until 1987. Between 1988 and 1992 she worked at Patara Tours Ltd. as partner and manager. Between 1995 and 2000, she was a part-time lecturer on Business and Finance at Girne American University in Cyprus. Since 1993, she has been the owner and the coordinator of EXPS Ltd.
Gülden Plümer Küçük has been actively involved at different levels on the administrative board of the Turkish Cypriot University Women’s Association and was president of the association for two terms. She worked on a “Women’s Platform” to empower and educate women on economic and social issues. Additionally she was the coordinator and manager of the Women’s Research Library Project, which was completed in 2003. Mrs. Küçük was the coordinator and manager of the Turkish Cypriot Women’s Education and Employment Profile Research Project and actively took part in publishing several books about women issues.
Since 1991, she has been the organiser and representative of the Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally in North Cyprus. She was appointed as the Turkish Cypriot Member of the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus in January 2006. She and her Greek Cypriot colleague were awarded bi-communally in May 2010 by the Management Centre from North Cyprus and NGO support centre from ENGAGE, a special award named as; “Contribution to Peace and Reconciliation Award” for their contribution to reconciliation and peace in Cyprus.
