Mr. Florian von König

From 2007 to 2013, Mr. von König worked as Political Affairs Officer at the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York. During this time, he dealt with peacekeeping missions and peace processes in Haiti - including in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake -, Georgia and Cyprus.

Prior to that, Mr. von König worked in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia as Political Adviser to the European Union Special Representative in Skopje, from 2006 to 2007, and as Political Adviser to the Head of the European Union Police Mission PROXIMA, from 2004 to 2005.

From 2003 to 2004, Mr. von König worked for the OSCE Mission in Georgia, monitoring the border with the Russian Federation. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. von König co-managed a World Bank project supporting the reform of Kosovo’s education sector. In 2001, he worked as Legal Adviser to the Department of Education and Science of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

Mr. von König holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales, Geneva, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
